Stepping away from media, people themselves are political, by which I mean that people who aren’t politicians are political. Individuals are raised in a society, and the views of society are going to inevitable influence individuals. Rules that society enforces are enforced because the individuals enforce them. As such, just looking at people and observing what they do can give you a hint of what kind of politics are going on. When you consider that fact and the fact that it’s people who produce the media we see, all media is political. Dan from Extra Credits does a better job of talking about this idea than I can, so go check his video in the link below.

With every media being political to some capacity, it’s near impossible to not know something about politics. If you see an issue addressed in a show you like and don’t like the issue, then voice your opinion about it. If a movie made you think of a solution that you like for a problem, then go make it a reality, at least by letting the officials know that is what you want. To be an active citizen, you need not to look far to understand the political landscape.
